Each faction has its own set of ships with unique possibilities. There are also models of ships, weapons and equipment which can only be used by certain factions. For factional things the player must have a certain rank in the faction.
The player can buy any available ship,weapon,equipment part of any faction as soon as he has the required rank. It is also possible to use different faction ships in battle to get the most efficient combination.

Factions are the various races for which the player can fly.

General information

In the game there are several of parties you can join. Each of these parties, also called factions, has two sub factions. When you start the game you have to choose your origin faction. This choice only determines your starting ship and the origin shown in your profile. As a mercenary you can choose to contract for any side you please after you start.

There are 3 main factions with 2 sub factions on each side:

Each major faction has its own ship tree, which is unlocked through Synergy progression. The subfactions are more important - completing contracts for them will reward you with Loyalty vouchers which can be cashed in to upgrade your ship's equipment to Mk 3 level.

The player can mix ships, weapons and modules from any faction once they are obtained with no restrictions.
