Missiles are the secondary weapons available on all type of ships. There are two types of missiles, homing and unguided. Homing missiles require the player to lock onto the target in order to fire (They can also be fired without locking-on and then follow the same rules as unguided) and can be avoided by using flares or dodging/weaving in and out of objects. Homing missiles are useful for longer ranges when [[Guns]] can't reach. Unguided require no lock-on and aren't affected by flares  but are easily dodged at long range, but are useful for close-quarters.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Missiles are loaded in Cartridges. When you expend all of the missiles in your cartridge, it will begin reloading, which is a lengthy process.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Missiles are separated by ship class, with interceptors only able to mount small missiles, fighters medium and frigates large. In addition, there are special missile types that can only be used by certain roles.&lt;br /&gt;

Missiles are the secondary weapons available on all type of ships. There are two types of missiles, homing and unguided. Homing missiles require the player to lock onto the target in order to fire (They can also be fired without locking-on and then follow the same rules as unguided) and can be avoided by using flares or dodging/weaving in and out of objects. Homing missiles are useful for longer ranges when [[Guns]] can't reach. Unguided require no lock-on and aren't affected by flares  but are easily dodged at long range, but are useful for close-quarters.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Missiles are loaded in Cartridges. When you expend all of the missiles in your cartridge, it will begin reloading, which is a lengthy process.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Missiles are separated by ship class, with interceptors only able to mount small missiles, fighters medium and frigates large. In addition, there are special missile types that can only be used by certain roles.&lt;br /&gt;

Contracts are specific tasks players can accept. They range from simple tasks like winning a match, to more complex ones like destroying drones or destroying the same player's ship three times in one match.&lt;br /&gt;

Upon completing a contract the player will receive loyalty points with their current subfaction, which can be used to upgrade equipment. Most contracts have cooldowns ranging from one hour to one day before they can be accepted again.&lt;br /&gt;

First, the player must join a subfaction by signing a &amp;quot;long term contract&amp;quot; with them. This will terminate your contract with your current faction, but they won't hold it against you and you will keep your loyalty points with them.&lt;br /&gt;

This will then unlock the normal short term contracts. Each rank you have with their main faction increases the number of contracts they will offer you. In any case, you can only accept 3 contracts at a time (not counting your long term contract).&lt;br /&gt;

These are a special type of contract offered by your mercenary trainers designed to familiarise you with the game. They are not considered normal contracts and don't count towards your outstanding contract limit. Tutorial contracts can only be completed once.&lt;br /&gt;

Guns are the main weapon used by ships. There are 15 different types of guns in the game, 4 for each ship class - frigate, fighter and interceptor - and 3 that can only be used by specific [[role]]s.&lt;br /&gt;

All guns have infinite ammunition, at least during a battle, but most guns firing is limited by heat build up. Firing for too long with weapons that can overheat will cause your weapons to lock up until they have cooled down again! You will also need to pay Credits when you get back in the hangar to reload your preferred ammunition.&lt;br /&gt;
