A heavy drilling station is an extremely valuable strategic object in the fringe [[Federation]] system Velorum. During the war with Aliens politicians were too busy to deal with remote systems, and the station was rented for 50 years by an off-radar private corporation.

Yet even during the war with Aliens, the [[Cartel]] never backed down from the plan to seize the processing rig even for a moment. We don't even have to tell you how it is now, during a lull, with the Federation splintering into ambitious corporations. Some believe that the [[Commonwealth of Mining Systems]] secretly pays the Cartel to make sure their competitors are driven away from this territory.
