Currently there is 4 types of currency In-game,Galactic Standards,Credits,Loyalty Vouchers And Artifacts. Each currency type is used to buy specific Items and some currency types can be "exchanged" for another.
Exchanging
Galactic Standards can be exchanged for Credits (the exchange rate at the time can vary significantly). Credits can be exchanged for Galactic Standards (the exchange rate at the time can vary significantly).
These are the only two currency's that can currently be exchanged with one another.

How to get GS?
You can obtain GS is a few ways:
- Buy GS using "real" Money (by far the easiest).
- Exchange Credits for GS.
- Receive GS by completing Contacts missions.
- Receive GS from random looting at the end of a (PVE) mission or (PVP) Battle.
