Joining a Random PvE Mission
*Missions for ranks 1-17 have multiple dynamic difficulty levels from 1 to infinity. Players initially have access only to the first difficulty level. Subsequent levels will become available as you progress through the previous ones. Enemies in the missions become stronger with each level. Mission level is selected by players on the ship selection screen. Players are also able to get stronger as part of the PvE missions, by buying their own special bonuses that only work in PvE.
Joining a random PvE mission is simple, as you only have to click the 'Missions' button in the 'To Battle' menu. Please note that there is a high probability that the "random" mission will be Operation 'Monolith' as it a mission that gives out higher rewards when compared with other Missions, at the cost of comparatively increased difficulty.

*A cetain mission can only be selected by a commander of squad of 4 pilots. Single pilots can go to one of 2 current random missions.
Selecting desired scenario
If a player wishes to select a particular scenario instead, s/he needs to click Map button, then hover the mouse over the Missions button and click 'Pick Scenario'. [WARNING: The pictures in this article is out of date and will be updated prior to Update 1.5.6 "Journey".

Under 'Pick Scenario', the player is displayed a complete list of missions accessible to him/her. Please note that the types of accessible missions are limited by the highest ship rank that the player owns.
*All pilots completing PvE missions get a special valuable resource “Insignia”.
**The earned Insignia can be used to increase mission levels.
**The earned Insignia can be used to enhance your defences and power in PvE missions.

*Infinite PvE missions are tied less to player skill and more to the time they spend.

Respawning upon Destruction
Even though PvE serves no hazard of intelligent human players destroying your ship, it does not offer auto-respawning upon the destruction of a ship unless the given stage objective is successfully completed and the subsequent stage is about to begin (availability of respawning in-between Stages vary per Mission). If your ally's ship is unfortunately destroyed, you can recover it, assuming he/she hasn't initiated the "Reconstruction" of his/her ship. To respawn him/her manually, you will need to approach the wreck of his ship and interact with it. Please keep in mind that a duplicator (worth 200 Galactic Standards) will be depleted if you choose to reconstruct his/her ship. If you are destroyed, you can also recover your ship instantly using a Duplicator [Tip: Premium ships (except for certain ships such as Jericho's Palom Mk II) can respawn once for free]. In the worst-case scenario, all players' ships will be destroyed. At this point, the screen will flash red, saying "WARNING: No live players. The mission will end.". After the timer runs out, the mission will result in a failure.

|
We received a distress signal from the complex 'Naberia-392'. UMC recon squad is requesting fire support. Our people were carrying out an investigation at the plant. They were looking for a connection between the plant and the dangerous criminal — Miss Summer. They have just informed us about the attack of unknown ships. You are going to be very dose to the surface of a planetoid. An old Federation plant was remodeled a few years ago, that had been used to build ships and modules for pirates and Cybers. Now its empty, but the machinery and automatic defence systems are still online. The enemy uses an unknown technology for opening portals. We can not predict how many opponents you are going to face. In addition, our scanners are detecting an unusually large object approaching the plant. Exercise extreme caution.

|
Our family has long been battling Cybers, outcasts resorting to piracy. They are constantly plaguing us with attacks on convoys, trying to profit from implant theft and capturing family-controlled zones. Cybers never posed a serious threat, but recently scouts in one of the zones in Solaris system discovered an unidentified object resembling a radar installation for long-range signature scans. We have data that allows us to believe Cybers are behind this. Family agents are watching them, trying to understand exactly what the Cybers are studying with this installation. Given the situation, the family cannot afford a large-scale attack on this outpost, but suspects that the information collected by the Cybers can be very valuable.

|
Mining rig is a key object bringing profits to its owners. It's not just an important part of the sectors resource base — it is also used as an outpost. Cartel forces have been trying to capture it for a long time to reap the credits and move deeper into Federation zones. Finally, when the Federation sectors were invaded by Aliens, the Cartel seized the opportunity to capture the station together with a cargo ship, and started building up defenses. Losing the station means undermining the Federation's economic potential in the nearby systems, affecting the fight with Aliens. This is why regaining control of the station is an important mission trusted to the mercenaries.

Intro

As the name suggests, PvE is an acronym for 'Player versus Environment'. This class of gameplay involves human players (also known as 'Mercenaries' by in-game NPC officiers) battling against AI-controlled ships, turrets, accompanied with some other objectives in-game, such as cargo escorting and (to boost rewards) bonus sub-missions including destroying a specified target or retrieving multiple objects in an environment.

  • Missions for ranks 1-17 have multiple dynamic difficulty levels from 1 to infinity.
  • A cetain mission can only be selected by a commander of squad of 4 pilots. Single pilots can go to one of 2 current random missions.
  • All pilots completing PvE missions get a special valuable resource “Insignia”.
    • The earned Insignia can be used to increase mission levels.
    • The earned Insignia can be used to enhance your defences and power in PvE missions.
  • Infinite PvE missions are tied less to player skill and more to the time they spend.

Characteristic features

Team Size

By default, a team of 4 pilots are selected, using ship ranks as the Matchmaking factor. The number of pilots required to start a Mission may differ in certain cases, such as during high matchmaking times, the Matchmaker will select 3 or even only 2 pilots are required to start a Mission, the absent pilots compensated by allied AI-controlled ships (no change in difficulty).

Stages

Each mission is typically broken into several phases. Usually, the mission is divided into 3 phases, but can vary from each Mission. Some missions do not offer stages and is replaced by varying waves of enemies.

If you are destroyed, you can also recover your ship instantly using a Duplicator [Tip: Premium ships can respawn once for free]. In the worst-case scenario, all players' ships will be destroyed. At this point, the screen will flash red, saying "WARNING: No live players. The mission will end.". After the timer runs out, the mission will result in a failure.
