Space is a dangerous place - you never know what’s waiting for you after a random hyperjump.
One of such jumps revealed a truly fascinating spectacle - a chain of unknown frozen rocks, conventionally called the "Lava Spines". The origin of this object has not yet been established. Some think that this is the result of someone's secret experiment gone awry, others feel that this is a rare natural phenomenon, not worth the attention of galactic superpowers.
However, mercenaries from all over the universe continue to flock to this sector, which inevitably leads to armed conflicts. What’s strange is that neither side of the conflict does anything about it and does not recall the mercenaries who seem to just be wasting ammunition in a useless sector. What is this, the most serious waste of funds in the universe, or are the races hiding something far more serious?
