General information

Faction: UMC
Class: Frigate
Role: Engineering
Rank: 16

Description

This is a highly customisable ship obtained through crafting.
Craft ships are made from parts that can be assembled in the workshop. When creating a ship, you can configure the number of slots for each type of modifier (engine, capacitor, shield, hull, computer; maximum slots of one type are 3). Total distribution slots — 9.

This ship has pre-installed modifier slots: 2 engines, 2 capacitors, 2 shields, 2 hulls and 1 cpu.

Engineering ships are designed for construction of auxiliary facilities on the battlefield, as well as for repair of allied ships. Engineers serve as a reliable rear guard for their team.

The prototypes of the first Salamander frigates were designed in 4623 by a group of engineers who had once left the “Outpost” shipyard and set up their own private enterprise. The “Blackwood” shipyard, known for its quality, was chosen as the production contractor.

The ship’s main feature is the use of numerous unique systems developed from scratch specifically for Salamander. The complex of this equipment seriously increases the engineering capabilities of the frigate. The outline of the ship captures the image of frigates of the past from the Federation civil war.

Like its ancestors, Salamander has excellent speed and mobility, which allows it to move quickly across the battlefield, without giving the enemy a chance to intercept it. And a special modification will seriously strengthen the resistance of the shield and the hull of the ship at maximum speed.

Currently, the UMC has signed a contract to test a large batch of Salamander-class frigates. Every interested mercenary will be able to get the new ship for themselves and try it out in battle. There are rumours that the Armada representative office is already interested in the frigate, although they haven’t officially announced it.

Unique ship equipment

Weapon

'CFER-24' nailgun

Kinetic weapon. Upon hitting an ally, amplifies all their shield and hull restoration.

Active module

'Kongmíng' manual controls

Switches control to the “Kongmíng” drone. In this mode, the ship remains stationary and increases shield and hull resistance. The drone restores hull to all allied ships, and all enemy ships lose their radar range.

Shield modifier

'Salamander' adaptive polarizer

Increases the shield and hull resistance to all types of damage, when the ship flies at its maximum speed. You can place only one modifier.

CPU modifier

'Event-24' Horizon Module

Increases the firing range. Reduces the damage. In the manual control mode, the “Kongmíng” can fire at enemies. You can place only one modifier.

Manufacturing

Special module

You must select one of the following special modules. If there is one special module, you won't have to choose.

Description Energy consumption  Recharge
Control the “Kongmíng” autonomous drone. Operates in three modes: shield restoration mode - the drone follows its ship and restores 300 pts./sec. of the shield to the owner and all their allies in a 1500 m. radius. Repair mode - the drone follows its ship and restores 300 pts./sec. of the hull to the owner and all their allies in a 1500 m. radius. Defence mode - the drone remains stationary and deals 900 thermal damage per sec. to enemy ships within a radius of 2100 m. 120 en. 1 s.

Bonuses

You must select one bonus for each level. If there is one bonus on a level, you won't have to choose.
