General information
Faction: Ellydium
Class: Frigate
Role: Guard
Ranks: 5 - 15
Development history
Long before the Yith'Mor project was finalized, Ellydium had begun developing a guard frigate. As early as 4620 and 4621, there were small leaks of information about the corporation's desire to develop a ship with a new role. The main difficulty in creating the ship later named “Drag'Thir” was that it was almost impossible to use standard Ellydium crystal nodes.
More complex elements were required. The needed parts were removed from living Crystallids only in 4624 for the first time. Information about the Ellydium’s study of these samples was passed on to the UMC and “The Frontier Voice” news agency by a source that remains unknown. Rumor has it that Natasha Cortés herself soon gave a good talking to the informant, making them realize the full extent of their mistakes.
Conrad Dimeni was able to convince the board of directors to use this as part of a promotional campaign for the new frigate. Shortly before the first “Drag'Thir” frigates rolled off the slipway, Ellydium issued a promotional publication about the creation of the new ship. One of the brochures, later withdrawn, indicated that the Leviathan power transfer technology was used in the creation of “Drag'Thir”. Some of the ship’s pilots noticed a suspicious similarity between some of the frigate’s elements and Liu Virus infected ships, but the Ellydium explicitly denied these rumors.
The ship has performed admirably in combat. We will soon be expanding the procurement of “Drag'Thir” for our mercenaries. Nevertheless, there is a proposal to investigate the reasons for the disappearance of “The Frontier Voice” journalist at Pilgrim-11 and the possible involvement of the Ellydium corporation. We need to find out if the unregistered capabilities previously observed in “Waz'Got” are present in this ship as well.
Physical impact transformer
If the ship takes damage of a selected damage type, the recharge of its modules is accelerated. At each phase, the ship receives bonuses: electromagnetic - boosts shield regeneration; thermal - increases weapon damage; kinetic - restores hull.
Energy tank
For dealing damage to an enemy, accumulates up charges that increase the shield resistance. Upon activation the charges are spent to increase weapon damage by a value depending on the number of charges. When activated, it gives a speed bonus decreasing over time.
Time anomalies generator
Increases shield resistance to all damage. Upon activation, the time slows down for the enemies inside the active radius: their modules recharge slower, their weapons have lower rate of fire and projectile speed, even ships are slower.
Manufacturing
The cabin is the most important component of the ship. To build the ship, pilots first need to manufacture a ship cabin and obtain unique ship parts. After construction ‘Ellydium’ ships can be developed from rank 5 to rank 15.
Credits
, experience
, xenocrystals and enriched monocrystals are required for the ship's upgrades. Also, for special modules, you need Alien frigate structures.
To build Drag'Thir you need:
- 1 Frigate cabin
- 4 Super dense crystals containments
Additionally 500'000
on study of blueprint and 1'500'000
on cabin production.
Features of ship
- Frigate receives higher collision damage due to the fragile crystal structure.
- Ship receives 50% less regeneration of the shield and hull from any sources (for example, if it is written in the characteristics of the special module that it restores 8000 pts. of the hull, then in reality your ship will recover only 4000 pts.).
- If the ship does not use modules weapons for 5 seconds, its hull begins to regenerate at 300 pts/s (receives 150 pts/s due to a debuf).
Nodes
- Ships made by ‘Ellydium’ scientists with Alien technology may evolve under the influence of ‘xenocrystals’.
- Ship rank changes.
- Ship appearance changes.
- Available modules, weapons and special modules change.
- All changes to the ships are made by pilots themselves when they choose the appropriate nodes in the ship tree.
- All development nodes in the new ship tree can be divided into several classes:
- ‘Special module’ node class. Allows to equip the ship with various special modules, depending on ship rank and its objectives.
- ‘Blueprint research’ node class for modules, modifiers and weapons. Required for production of special modules, modifiers and weapons from ‘Ellydium’ corporation. After research the nodes will not be visible in the ship tree.
- ‘Basic ship characteristics’ node class. Improves guidance. Increases maximum energy reserves and its recovery speed. Increases maximum ship speed. Increases maximum hull durability. Increases maximum shield volume. Improves weapon parameters.
- ‘Auxiliary ship slot’ node class. Adds slots for hull, capacitor, active modules, shield modifiers, engine and CPU.
- ‘Additional bonuses’ node class. Adds bonuses to defence and attack. You can only activate one module at a time.
- The pilot must first research his desired node, and then activate it or a group of research nodes. Only after pressing the ‘Apply’ button the selected changes will be activated on your ship.
- Each node can be deactivated, thus changing the configuration and capabilities of the ship to fit the specific challenges the pilot faces.
- The number of slots on the ship is limited! Carefully review all the possible nodes and activate only the ones that you need.
List of nodes
Unique weapons
These weapons are researched from ship nodes.
Launches homing missiles that separate into shards after travelling a short distance, each shard travelling towards the target.
Available only to ‘Ellydium’ frigate ‘Drag'Thir’.
Fires a ball of plasma that deals high damage. Hitting the target lowers its speed, each subsequent hit increases the effect.
Available only to ‘Ellydium’ frigate ‘Drag'Thir’.
Unique active modules
These modules are researched from ship nodes.
Creates a beam along the direction of your aim. Allied ships within the beam become completely invisible. They can shoot and use modules while staying within the beam’s effect.
Available only to ‘Ellydium’ frigate ‘Drag'Thir’.
Quickly attracts all enemy ships to itself. Once attracted, deals periodic damage to all enemies that increases depending on the number of enemies.
Available to guards.
Creates a special zone around the ship. Enemy ships inside the zone cannot leave it, their warp is disabled and their shield and hull resistances are reduced.
Available only to ‘Ellydium’ frigate ‘Drag'Thir’.
Unique modifiers
These modifiers are researched from ship nodes.
When the ship’s shield drops below 5%, produces an additional shield without any resistances. If the additional shield is not destroyed within the active time, it enhances all ship’s parameters for a short period of time.
You can mount only one modifier of this type.
A shield modifier, available to guards.
Increases maximum hull durability. When the hull reaches 30% durability, produces an explosion dealing very high electromagnetic damage.
You can mount only one modifier of this type.
A hull modifier, available only to ‘Ellydium’ frigates.
Increases critical damage chance. Reduces the radar visibility of allies, but not of the ship itself.
You can mount only one modifier of this type.
A CPU modifier, available only to ‘Ellydium’ frigate ‘Drag'Thir’.
