General information
Faction: UMC
Class: Frigate
Role: Engineering
Rank: 16
Description
This is a highly customisable ship obtained through crafting.
Craft ships are made from parts that can be assembled in the workshop. When creating a ship, you can configure the number of slots for each type of modifier (engine, capacitor, shield, hull, computer; maximum slots of one type are 3). Total distribution slots — 10.
This ship has pre-installed modifier slots: 2 engines, 3 capacitors, 2 shields, 1 hull and 2 cpus.
Engineering ships are designed for construction of auxiliary facilities on the battlefield, as well as for repair of allied ships. Engineers serve as a reliable rear guard for their team.
The Multi-Purpose Repair Ship, aka MPRS “Hellas”, was designed by engineers of the Free Worlds of Eridan to replace the obsolete Raptor-type engineering frigates.
The Free Worlds were unable to afford to purchase new Armada frigates, and so their engineers sought alternative ways to solve the problem.
Named after the destroyed capital city, the MPRS “Hellas” is an adaptation of the New Empire’s experience with the “Bark-2”. The original blueprints for the modified hull used during the First War for the Bartle Sector were discovered on one of the abandoned Direktorium bases during a scientific expedition. Grasping the opportunity, the engineers of the Worlds of Eridan set to work.
The planetary bomber was heavily modified to meet military requirements. The first tests in 4624 proved the success of the scientists, and soon the MPRS “Hellas” began entering service in small batches.
In 4625, the UMC analysts noticed the potential of the ship. Initially, the center’s leadership wanted to order a large batch of ships for internal use, but it became clear that the remaining shipyards of the Free Worlds of Eridan had no capacity to fulfill the order and the contract was renegotiated. Currently, the UMC has the exclusive right to produce MPRS “Hellas” ships, and every mercenary of the center has the opportunity to order one.
Unique ship equipment
Weapon
'Anchor' slowing weapon
- Kinetic laser. Hitting a target reduces its maximum speed. Holding increases the effect to half its maximum speed.
Active module
M.I.N.E.
- Launches a self-propelled mine, activated on impact or by timer. Once activated, the mine is invisible. It triggers if the target moves away from it while within the detonation radius.
Engine modifier
Propulsion engines booster
- Increases maximum speed and hull resistance to all damage. You can place only one modifier.
Capacitor modifier
Reactor modulator
- Increases maximum capacitor volume and range of active modules. You can place only one modifier.
