Description
In early 4624, Blackwood corporation acquired the assets of Aurora, a small Imperial company specializing in the development of interfaces for military spacecraft. After that, Blackwood bought four more companies that manufactured and designed various components for spacecraft support systems. All of these cases were notable in that the companies were close to bankruptcy due to large contract penalties, which meant that the cost of Blackwood’s acquisitions was at a record low.
Six months later, Blackwood opened a new research department based on the acquired data. One of the company’s key features, the highly developed Ariadne AI, participated in the development of the first ship designed by this department. As a result of the hard work of Blackwood employees and AI, the Saturn destroyer was developed in just one year, with the latest version of the Ariadne on-board assistant supplied with the ship.
At first glance, the design of the destroyer looks unusual, especially the additional units installation system, which involves mounting additional “rings” on the ship. If you ask the onboard assistant about the ship’s name, the answer will be, “The destroyer is named after the Roman god, not after the planet, as one might think because of the rings.”
The ship became publicly known in 4625, when Blackwood showed a video of the destroyer’s battle with a Crystallid predator. In the video, Saturn successfully destroyed the predator and did not suffer any serious damage. Despite the possibility of Ariadne’s deep integration into the ship’s systems, Blackwood stated that it would not give artificial intelligence complete control of the ship. It is telling that Ironside ordered a number of Saturn ships for his personal guard.

Nodes
- The pilot can activate and deactivate nodes in the tree of the Saturn. Wherein:
- Changes ship's rank.
- Changes ship's technical characteristics.
- Changes the set of modules, modifiers and available weapons.
- The pilot must first learn the node he needs, and then activate him or the group of nodes studied. Only after clicking the “Apply” button will the selected changes appear in your ship. The study will require credits, experience, enriched monocrystals and xenocrystals.
- Each node can be deactivated, to change the configuration and capabilities of the ship for specific tasks facing the pilot.

Unique ship equipment
Weapon
- Chargeable weapon. An uncharged shot fires a plasma rocket that explodes upon contact with the enemy. A charged shot fires a large-diameter, slow-moving plasma ball that hits all targets in its path.
Special modules
- As damage is dealt, accumulates a charge that increases damage and the resistance of hull. Upon activation, consumes all charges, increasing weapon damage for a period of time.
- As damage is dealt, accumulates a charge that increases damage and the resistance of hull. Upon activation, consumes all charges, creating a defence zone around the ship that deals kinetic damage to all enemies within it.
- As damage is dealt, accumulates a charge that increases damage and the resistance of hull. Upon activation, consumes all charges, increasing modules damage for a period of time.
Active module
- Launches a mine that explodes after a period of time. The explosion leaves behind a cloud of electronic interference in which enemy ships cannot use their modules or radars. The cloud shrinks over time until it disappears.
Engine modifier
- Increases flight speed and turning speed. Upon activation, the modifier’s effect is increased for a short time. You can place only one modifier.
Hull modifier
- Restores the ship’s hull while it is not firing or using modules. You can place only one modifier.
